PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2020 Goes Virtual

At the moment, the world is experiencing an unprecedented crisis. The COVID-19 virus is affecting communities all around the globe. Governments have taken measures to curb its spread and to keep populations safe. The safety and health of employees and participants is the highest priority. For this reason, for the first time in its 56-year-long history, PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL, the oldest and most renowned festival of its kind, will not take place in its regular format.

But especially in times like these, mutual support, community, and communication are more important than ever. The festival’ organizers are working very hard to make a digital version of the festival possible. The festival’s motto – previously “Listen to kids TV: The Power of Sound” – has been modified to „Virtual PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2020: Separated by Crisis; Together in Commitment to Children“. Between 5 June and 10 June participants can watch the final competition entries from their homes, discuss them with their international colleagues and cast their vote – and thus determine the winners. These winners will then be announced in a virtual award show on 11 June. More information will follow as soon as details have been worked out.

The festival’s organizers hope to be able to fulfill PRIX JEUNESSE’s core mission – exchange about and reflection on quality in children’s TV – with this digital version of the festival.
