PRIX JEUNESSE 2020 and Covid-19 crisis
VIRTUAL PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2020:
Separated by Crisis; Together in Commitment to Children
Dear Friends of PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL,
At the moment, the world is experiencing an unprecedented crisis. The COVID-19 virus is affecting communities all around the globe. Governments have taken measures to curb its spread and to keep populations safe.
The PRIX JEUNESSE/IZI team’s safety and protecting our festival participants are our highest priorities. For that reason, for the first time in the festival’s 56-year history, a get-together in person won’t be possible.
But, community, communication, sharing and mutual support are more important than ever. For PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL (5 – 11 June 2020), we are arranging for a virtual festival that will enable us to ‘meet’ and exchange ideas about quality in children’s TV. We will build a space where you can screen, judge and discuss the finalist programmes of PRIX JEUNESSE 2020 with your peers from all over the world. We are working out the details and more information will follow soon!
We hope that what we all miss in face-to-face time with friends will be somewhat offset by the opportunity to bring PRIX JEUNESSE to its largest-ever group of participants, and that we will all be back in Munich in 2022.
Stay healthy, best wishes,
Your PRIX JEUNESSE team
