Let’s Connect & Exchange
at the
Virtual PRIX JEUNESSE Conference
14 / 15 June 2021

While the worldwide pandemic still has a grip on all of us, we would like to bring the world of children’s TV together in this non-festival year. In a two day conference on 14th /15th June you will have a chance on the first day to learn about news for children. On the second day the winners and runners’ up of PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2020 will talk about their newest projects and tell how they are managing in these challenging pandemic times.

The two conference days will take place on the conference streaming platform and on the platform wonder.me.

For a detailed schedule of the two conference days, please see below.

Registration deadline was 9 June 2021.

Day 1, 14 June, 11:30 – 17:00 CET:
They Deserve to Know: News for Children

Children need children’s news that give them the chance to understand and adequately assess current events happening around them.
At the same time, however, it must be remembered that children’s views to the world and frames of reference usually differ from those of adults. Therefore, we need to ask:

  • Which pieces of news are relevant to children?
  • Which topics are children really interested in?
  • How should children’s news explain big current issues in a simple way to make them understandable for children?

In this workshop, researchers will present their recent studies on children’s news and renowned children’s TV makers from around the world will discuss what quality means in this context.

Day 2, 15 June, 11:30 – 19:30 CET
No Lockdown on Creativity: Updates from PRIX JEUNESSE 2020 Winners

Meet the winners and runners’ up of PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2020 and listen to what projects they are working on these days, and how they are coping in the time of the pandemic.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each presentation.
