The PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation was established in 1964 with the aim to promote quality in children’s television worldwide, by running the bi-annual festival PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL and by organzing training for children’s media experts worldwide.

European Broadcasting Union (EBU)

PRIX JEUNESSE has for many years closely cooperated with the EBU in the field of children’s television. The Chair of the EBU Youth Experts Group is member of the PRIX JEUNESSE Board of Directors, and the EBU is member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board. 

Goethe Institut

The Goethe Institut (German Cultural Center), with 160 institutes in 94 countries is one of the main partners of PRIX JEUNESSE when it comes to organizing PRIX JEUNESSE Suitcase and training events all around the world that helped to change the media scene in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Arab Region and Latin America. Goethe Institut is member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board.

Deutsche Welle Academy

PRIX JEUNESSE cooperates with the Deutsche Welle Academy, Deutsche Welle’s international training institute, which seeks to contribute to more openness, transparency and participation in the electronic media of developing and transition countries. Deutsche Welle Akademie is member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board.


North America

Youth Media Alliance ( YMA)

PRIX JEUNESSE cooperates with the Canadian Youth Media Alliance which seeks to enrich the lives of Canadian children and teens by helping improve the quality of the content created for them on all screen-based media. YMA is a member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board.


Latin America

PRIX JEUNESSE IBEROAMERICANO

PRIX JEUNESSE IBEROAMERICANO festivals have been held bi-annually, starting in 2003 in Santiago de Chile, since 2009 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The festival is modelled after PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL, but custom-tailored to the continent’s unique media cultures.

MIDIATIVA

Midiativa, the Brazilian center on media for children, is an NGO, organized by media professionals in Brazil with the aim to improve the quality of Brazilian children’s TV. Midiativa frequently organizes PRIX JEUNESSE Suitcase workshops for producers, educators and children.


Africa

African Union of Broadcasting

PRIX JEUNESSE cooperates with the African Union of Broadcasting and has helped to launch the AUB Item in the year 2000 which had become a part of the World Item Exchange. AUB is a member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board.


Arab World

Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU)

PRIX JEUNESSE is closely cooperating with ASBU and its Damascus Training Center. Training courses are being organized for children’s television producers from various Arab countries. ASBU is a member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board.


Asia

Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU)

PRIX JEUNESSE has a long standing, close cooperation with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). It supports all ABU activities in the field of children’s television like the ABU Item Exchange and workshops for children’s TV producers in the region. PRIX JEUNESSE is an Institutional Member of ABU. ABU is a member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board.

Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD)

PRIX JEUNESSE and the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) cooperate closely on training workshops for children’s TV producers in the Asian region. AIBD is a member of the PRIX JEUNESSE’s International Advisory Board.
