New York, NY – On January 11, 2017, more than seventy children’s media makers gathered at Fordham University to see the Prix Jeunesse “Suitcase”, a television screening curated for our audience by industry leader David Kleeman. The episodes were selected from those shows presented at the Prix Jeunesse International festival and competition in Munich, Germany last year. By LaToye Adams
On May 30th and 31st 2016, a PRIX JEUNESSE Suitcase workshop was held in the city of Pinar del Rio the first Cuban regional workshop on children and communication. 25 radio and TV producers from several provinces (Pinar del Rio, Mayabeque and Havana) gathered to talk, screen and debate about diversity in children’s communication, celebrating the 70th anniversary of UNICEF and 25th anniversary of the ratification of Children’s Right Convention and facing Cuban sustainable development emergencies.

“What it means to be me!” – this year’s theme of the PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL festival literally demands for creative expressions of identity. Children and youth all over the world were asked to send in drawings in which they express what shapes their identities.

Not only media producers and media students followed the invitation by Goethe Centre Windhoek and DW Akademie to be part of the Youth-Media-Festival 2015 but also a colourful crowd of teenagers and the Namibian Youth Jury that took part in the PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL Festival 2014.

For the second time the PRIX JEUNESSE Suitcase visited the capital of Macedonia, Skopje. Again the media organization OXO, supported by the Goethe Institute in Skopje, organized the workshop.
The Center for Public Policy and Law (CPPL) of National Taiwan University (NTU) has organized the “Taipei Suitcase”, aforum to provide the government and the mediato think innovatively to improve the quality of our children’s television programs.
Under the title: “Catching attention, reaching young audiences: Challenges for producers and creative film artists” eight selected experts for educative children’s television met in Abu Dhabi to discuss quality standards and suitable content for film and TV productions and possible forms of cooperation in the Arab region.
