PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL ArtContest
Children and youth from all over the world aged between four and 17 years participated in the PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL Art Contest 2018. Almost 400 most creative pictures were submitted dealing with this year’s contest topic „The day I noticed I am strong”.
Twenty-eight art works were chosen for the final round.
Nearly 400 children and youth from Montenegro, Mexico, Serbia, Sri Lanka, India, the Philippines, Slovenia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Brazil, Kosovo, Ukraine and Ghana participated in the PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL Art Contest 2018. They not only painted stunning pictures on the topic “The day I noticed I am strong” but also had the possibility to explain their artwork in an attached questionnaire. The children sent in really thoughtful and sometimes heartbreaking stories and a lot of their paintings show situations where they had to overcome fears or had to face difficult times, for example the loss of a family member.
The entries were divided into the three age categories “up to 7 years”, “8-11 years” and “12-18 years”. Afterwards, 28 finalists were determined in a preselection. The decision was tough as so much dedication can be seen in all of the paintings. Besides creativity and technique the young artists’ individual stories behind the paintings were taken into consideration.
In the next step, an international jury will choose the four most expressive and artistic pictures from each category. Finally, three main winners will be nominated.
For the fourth time the PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation is organizing an international art contest for children and youth related to its bi-annual festival. PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL is one of the most renowned children’s TV festivals. It attracts over 500 TV producers from all over the world. The art contest always refers to the festival’s topic. In 2018 it is “Strong Stories for Strong Children – Resilience and Storytelling”.
