PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL 2022: Prize Winners Announced
Tonight, the coveted trophies of the world’s largest TV competition for outstanding children’s and youth TV programs were awarded at Munich’s Volkstheater. This year, the festival was held both in presence and online. At the face-to-face event at the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation, more than 200 international children’s television experts gathered June 10-15 to discuss quality standards under the motto “Listen to Kids TV – The Power of Sound.” Approximately 400 children’s television professionals worldwide participated in the online version of the festival.
Today’s award ceremony was the festive conclusion of a week that is considered a unique source of inspiration among international children’s TV makers. A special feature of PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL: there are no juries meeting behind closed doors. Festival participants from around the world vote together on the winners in the main categories.
At this year’s festival, children’s TV programmes from Germany were among the most successful, taking home five prizes, among them two prizes in the main TV categories. Also Norwegian’s children’s TV was successful with two prizes for the teen drama TRUTH OR DARE. For the very first time, a children’s programme from Bhutan won a PRIX JEUNESSE Award, with “DANCING WITH CRANES” being awarded the Gender Equity Prize for a programme with an innovative approach to gender representation.
